Ball Badminton – Getting Into The Swing Of Things

Ball Badminton is widely regarded as a great deal of fun.  Now developed into a full-blown sport, the game started out in native India.  It is a game played with a racket and the ball is traditionally yellow and made of wool.  The playing court measures 24 x 12 metres and is divided by a net that is very similar to a Volley Ball net.  The game is fast-paced, and the yellow ball is controlled by using one’s wrist.

Ball Badminton is a team sport, with the number of players varying depending on the type of tournament played.  Eight players are involved in a game of Fives, with five players on the court at any given time, and 3 players on the side line.  Doubles tournaments involve two teams of 3 players each.  Players may be substituted.

A typical match consists of 3 games, with the winning team having won 2 of the 3 games.  A game is overseen by an umpire.  Points are awarded in favour, or against, a team.  At the end of the game, the match point is calculated by subtracting the points against the team from the points in favour of the team.

Due to the fast-paced nature of the game, the sport requires a high level of fitness as well as certain technical capabilities.

Types Of Bets

A specified selection of betting options are usually on offer.  These include placing your bet on the team or player considered the favourite to win the match as a whole, placing a bet on one set in a match, predicting the point score outcome of a particular match, betting on the difference between points scored during a specified set in a match and betting on the match leader at any certain point in a given game.

A-Game Strategy

Many factors influence the outcome of a set or a match.  Those wanting to place a bet on a specific outcome would do well to take note of a couple of key factors known to largely impact the eventual score.

A player’s general mind set and psyche are important variables to take into account.  For example, many players tend to slack after a number of points are won.  This can often lead to being caught unawares by the opposing team.

The air temperature is another key aspect to consider.  The ball (or shuttlecock) will travel through the air much faster in warmer temperatures, requiring players to react even faster than usual.  Some player’s respond better during matches played in warm temperatures, than others.

Try and establish which sports betting sites have better odds, before making use of the information offered on those sites in order to formulate a winning strategy.  The golden rule is: if the odds change too often, chances are that the matches may be fixed and the site subscribing to those matches not a reputable one.

Lastly, always keep the human factor in mind.  Anything can happen during a game of Ball Badminton.  The important thing is to have fun.
